I am a huge fan of Christian Blogs. Not just any Christian blogs, but the real meaty ones. The ones that are written by college kids that know all about life and living. The rest of us are so out of touch with what is going on in pop-Christianity, that we lose sight of it and its real meaning.
What does this mean? Well, the church is like an organism and it is growing. And this requires its members to grow and change and be able to accept new things. The Church must be ready to accept new forms of worship. It must be prepared to welcome "alternative lifestyles" into the fold. The doors should be opened wide so that all can come in, and enjoy the blessings.
Who has the greatest hold on this concept? College kids. That's right. they blog about so much, and you know what? We don't give them enough credit; we write them off as these children with no life experiences, who don't know how it is in the real world. I'm sorry, that's just not true. In fact they've a ton of life experiences. They went though highschool. Let's face it, it's a lot tougher today to make it though the public school. Our kids are exposed to so much more than we were; with the second graders and their drugs and fifth graders getting pregnant.
It's tough out there, and the freshmen in our universities have good heads on their shoulders. They've got it together. And they've got meat on their blogs.
My hat is tipped to you, O sayer of the sooth. I can't wait to read more from you guys. In fact, I don't read "Devo's" (as you guys call them) anymore, I just follow your blogs.
I'll probably stop reading my Bible as soon as someone is willing to email me a scripture a day.
